What is a NEET-UG 2024 eligibility criterion?

The eligibility criteria include the educational qualification, reservation criteria, and age limit. In order to become eligible for the NEET UG ELIGIBILITY 2024 examination, a student must have qualified 12th standard with PCB and English along.

When understanding about NEET UG ELIGIBILITY 2024 eligibility criteria, it is also important to understand the marks required to secure a place when appearing for the exam. In the 12th standard, it is important for the general category to score 50% marks and for SC / ST / OBC category, they require 40% marks.

NEET UG Eligibility age criteria:

The age criteria to appear for NEET-UG 2024 examination is as follows:-

  • It is important for individuals to be 17 years old as of December 31, 2024, to appear for NEET UG  examination. In case they are 16 years of age, as, on December 31, 2024, they will not be able to appear for the exam in 2024.
  • For the general category, the upper age limit is 25 years, and for reserved and PWD, it is 30 years.

Educational qualification for NEET-UG 2024:-

According to NEET UG Eligibility criteria the education qualification requires:-

  • All aspirants must have completed their 12th standard with PCB along with English from CBSE or any other state board.
  • Candidates who are already in 12th standard can apply for the NEET-UG examination, but when they qualify and go for taking the admission, they need to show their passing certificate with the required percentage.

NEET UG 2024 eligibility criteria for State Quota:

Under State Quota, about 85% of Medical and Dental seats are reserved for students appearing for the NEET-UG examination. It is important that the candidate must belong to India and completed their 12th standard from a respective state with the required percentage. Also in case, they are not looking forward to taking admission in India, they can apply for MBBS in Russia after qualifying for the NEET UG examination.

Eligibility for all India Quota in NEET-UG 2024:

15% seats are under the category of all India quota, and these seats are allotted in multiple Medical and Dental colleges of India. It is important for an individual to be an Indian citizen, foreign national, or non-resident Indian. In case that belongs to states like Telangana, Jammu, and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, they are not supposed to fall under the category of 15% of all seats.
