Undergraduate entrance exams:
- NEET UG examination:
Medical entrance exams is essential to take admission in Medical or government Dental College. Now it is essential for some deemed and private universities of colleges as well across India. Earlier, AIPMT and CPMT were conducted, but in 2016, NEET-UG was introduced, and from that, all other pre-medical test becomes part of it. - JIPMER MBBS:
JIPMER or Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research Institute conducts the JIPMER MBBS examination once a year. It is the Computer Based examination having 200 objective type questions available, and all of them are related to physics, chemistry, biology, English and comprehension, along with some logical and quantitative reasoning. After the exam conduction, the students who have cleared the exam need to appear for the counseling process and then it will be allotted to them.

The marking scheme for the JIPMER examination is as same as the NEET-UG examination. There will be four marks awarded for the correct answer, and one mark will be deducted for the wrong answer. There are nine Institute of AIIMS located in Raipur, New Delhi, Nagpur, Jodhpur, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Rishikesh, Guntur and in total, 800 seats will be offered to students. The marking scheme for the AIIMS Medical entrance exams is simple. For every correct answer, there will be one mark awarded to the student, and for the wrong answer, 1/3 marks will be deducted. For unanswered question, there will be no mark given or deducted. Also, the exam got conducted in 4 shifts for two days. Be prepared for it accordingly.
The postgraduate medical entrance test
- JIPMER PG:
If you want to pursue MS or MD from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, then this exam is essential to qualify. After it, a seat will be allotted to you to start your education.
Marking scheme:
There will be 250 questions in the exam, and the maximum number of marks you can obtain is 1000. There will be four marks awarded for the correct answer, and one mark will be deducted for the wrong answer. The total duration of the examination is 180 minutes and got conducted in single-shift only.
- AIIMS PG:
AIIMS PG examination is to take admission in all the MD or MS courses across any of the Institution of Aims. There will be 499 seats in six AIIMS institute are available. There is a particular cut of set up by AIIMS New Delhi, which is essential to achieve by all the aspirants appearing for it.
Marking scheme:
The marking scheme is as same as for the AIIMS entrance examination. One mark will be awarded for the correct answer, and 1/3 mark will be deducted for the wrong one. The exam got conducted in a single session only and is for 3 hours. In 3 hours, students’ needs to attempt 200 MCQ questions.
- NEET PG:
NEET PG examination is for all those who want to pursue a master of surgery and a doctor of medicine. The national board of examination is responsible for conducting the Neet PG examination.
Marking scheme:
In this examination, there will be questions from all the subjects they have learnt in their MBBS, and it will be the MCQ based paper. There will be 300 questions with four options, and a student needs to choose the right one. For the correct answer, four marks will be rewarded, and for a wrong answer, one mark will be deducted. It got conducted in 1 shift only, and the duration of the examination is 210 minutes.
- FMGE:
Foreign medical graduate screening test allows medical aspirants to have a certificate from the National Medical Commission. This FMGE exam got conducted two times a year. The mode of examination will be online, and the maximum number of marks a student can obtain are 300. For each part of the exam in 50 minutes will be given to the students.
- PGIMER:
PGIMER examination is quite simple and on the availability of the seats and rank obtained, students can get admission in MS and MD post of the mode of examination is offline and in a single shift, only the exam will get conducted.
